You might have heard about affiliate marketing...but have you heard about it from both sides?
Let me explain. Let's say that you create your own infoproduct online. You can sell it yourself, of course.
You can also create an affiliate program in which hundreds of others sell it in return for a commission.
That's thousands of dollars you wouldn't see from your own efforts.
Next, let's say that you DON'T want to create any products. You can still build a website, write a blog, create an Ezine, etc...and monetize that via profitable mentions of affiliate programs. When someone buys thru your link, you make money.

Let's say that a visitor sees that link...and has their own affiliate ID, like 'seoprofits'. They could put in their affiliate ID like so:
http://seoprofits.richhermit.hop.clickbank.net
That would effectively deprive lingstar of valid commission! So, when dealing with affiliate programs, you want to:
I wrote a nifty way to cloak one's affiliate link at My Help Desk. If you're a bit leery about creating redirect files yourself, you can always take advantage of products like Affiliate Link Cloaker.
Mark my words - if you want to promote affiliate programs, you owe it to yourself to protect your online income as much as possible.
There's lots of great affiliate resources out there. They include:
