There are literally tons (especially if you count the computer weight) of free Wordpress plugins you can install as well!  Here are some of my favorites:

Now, why on earth would you want to run your own blog as part of making money online?

You can blog about ebook recommendations and use your affiliate link for more information.

If you create your own infoproduct, you can incorporate it into the sidebar of every post for automatic advertising (look on the right bottom of http://www.RichHermit.com/blog/ for an example)

You can seamlessly include affiliate links in typical non-make-money postings.  Look at http://www.richhermit.com/blog/2006/06/02/how-big-is-your-asparagus-tree/ and see where the link
