An autoresponder is a must must must MUST HAVE when you’re selling online.
Why?
Because it’s been said that a customer needs at least 7 exposures to what you have to offer…before they opt to buy.
But more important than that…autoresponders allow you to do followup storytelling.
Yes yes yes, you can do followup marketing as well.
But think for a second.
What generally grabs peoples’ attention first? The opportunity to buy something they’re not yet aware they need?
Or the opportunity to be entertained?
I think “entertainment” is key. When you put together a followup storytelling sequence via an autoresponder, you can sell without the person realizing they’re being sold to.
Consider the following example. Let’s say that you posted an answer on a health forum about weight loss tips…and included a link to your weight loss resource site that has bunches of weight loss articles, links, affiliate products, etc.
Now imagine that the page your visitor landed on had an optin form for them to receive
7 Heart-Rending Tales of Weight Loss Conquests
or something catchy like that.
Each installment of that story sequence could close with a PS that reads,
P.S. Stories like the above are being achieved by people like you every day! Click here to see some of the resources people have found that really work.
That “click here” could drop folks neatly into your page that has affiliate weight loss products, or even your own infoproduct if you have one.
