Good morning,
Lately it seems like the world and their left toenails are shriekly joyously about the wonders of article writing. Get targeted traffic to your account! Get more and more visitors who view you as the master of the topic!
Well, I have some good news and some great news.
The good news is that it’s quite easy to write articles.
The great news is that there are tons of resources that will help you promote them as well!
Here’s how I approach writing articles - your mileage, of course, may vary.
First I ask myself, self, what is the problem I’m trying to solve? Do I want people to visit my main website? My books for sale? My ezine signup page?
Once I know the end goal, I then think about what article topic would best lend itself to that. If I wanted to generate traffic to my ezine signup page, I’d write about any one of the broad Internet Marketing niches out there (as my ezine deals with entrepreneurs).
If instead I wanted to drive traffic to my books, I’d first pick a book (let’s say, Dynamic Affiliate Profit Linking), choose a sub-topic within it, and then derive 5 or 7 points that can stand on their own. For example, DAPLs deal with the eBay affiliate program among others. So I’d write an article that shows 5 easy ways to use them in forum postings, or 7 easy ways to use them in blog postings, or …
…you get the idea. Now apply this to your own situation…on what topics do your products or ezine center? Grab a few killer ideas from your own bank of knowledge, and write from the heart. Write to entertain, to enlighten, to intrigue! You don’t have to write like a college professor…simply infuse your article with your personality. It’s a great way to stand out from the thundering herd.
Remember, the main point is to showcase that you know your stuff and give away valuable tips for free…in order to intrigue visitors to want to learn more.
If you’re looking for an excellent step-by-step guide to generating traffic from your articles, do yourself a favor and check out Turn Words Into Traffic which shows how to create a professional-grade article in just a couple of hours (the author of that is known for quality work!).
Want some great places to submit articles? I found this great list of over 180 directories here! What’s really nice is it breaks down the directories into niche directories and ecommerce directories as well.
Give it a try and let me know how it works!
Enjoy,
Barbara
